We rely on university entomology extensions (Penn State, Kentucky, UC IPM, Cornell), the CDC, EPA, and reputable spider and insect databases such as BugGuide.
How we identify bugs
Photo-based identification uses an AI vision model with a careful prompt. We tell users when we’re not sure, and we always favor the safer answer (e.g. “caution” when an image could be a dangerous spider).
Fact-checking
Every page is reviewed before publication. Sources are linked at the bottom of each article. When we update a page, we update the “last updated” date. If you spot something wrong, please email [email protected].
What we don’t do
We don’t diagnose medical conditions. We don’t give risky DIY pest advice. We don’t fake expertise or invent testimonials. We don’t copy other sites’ content.
