Why spraying the trail backfires
The visible ants are workers. Killing them doesn't kill the colony. Bait works because the workers carry it back inside the colony.
Step-by-step
- Find the entry point (a gap by a window, baseboard, or pipe).
- Place ant bait stations along the trail. Don't disturb the line.
- Stop wiping the trail with chemicals — the scent guides bait carriers.
- Seal sweet liquids, pet food, and standing water.
- After 5–7 days, wipe with vinegar water and seal the entry point.
